Tuesday Tune

Since yesterday was a holiday, I thought I'd stick with that theme today.
Today's Tuesday Tune is "Holiday" by Madonna

Here are the lyrics:

If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice

Everybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration

All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday

You can turn this world around
And bring back all of those happy days
Put your troubles down
It's time to celebrate
Let love shine
And we will find
A way to come together
And make things better
We need a holiday

Taking time off is always a good thing.  Everyone needs time to rest and sometimes the weekends just aren't enough. Because really, do we rest on the weekends? Nope. Most of the time it is just more work. Time off from work is also good for our soul. It's no coincidence that church services are held once a week. One day a week we can give our time to God, as a way of rejuvinating ourselves.

Look what the Bible says about taking a day off:

Hebrews 4:9 (NASB) So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God
Isaiah 58:13 “If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word,

Exodus 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

Proverbs 6:10 “A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest”—

Matthew 11:28Come to Me, all [a]who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Mark 6:31 And He *said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

Genesis 2:2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

Luke 4:42 When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place;

God rested, Jesus rested, we should to.
