Movie Quote Monday

Todays Feature:  The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

Quote: Aslan: If the Witch knew the true meaning of sacrifice, she might have interpreted the deep magic differently. That when a willing victim who has committed no treachery, is killed in a traitor's stead, the stone table will crack, and even death itself would turn backwards.

Biblical Connection: Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (NASB)

Everyone knows the scripture verse John 3:16. “For God so Loved the World, He gave his only son, so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” –(my words)

But does anyone really know what it means? Do we understand truly what was done?

Aslan said it beautifully. He described God’s plan of redemption using elegant, almost poetic words.

…..the willing victim who has committed no treachery -- Jesus, the son of God came to earth to be our sacrifice, living a life free of sin

…..is killed in a traitor’s stead –-The wages of sin, or the penalty for leading a sinful life, is death. We are sinners. We deserve death, separation from God; Jesus died instead, in our place. He suffered immeasurable pain and God turned His face away. All so we wouldn’t have to.

…….the stone table will crack, and even death itself would turn backwards— Jesus did not remain in the tomb. He defied death. With his resurrection, the payment was made. The way has been cleared. We have a direct path to eternity in heaven with God. No one who believes in what Jesus did, will die.

The witch wanted Edmund. Aslan gave himself up in his place. Edmund was free.

You can be to.

Salvation is a free gift from Jesus. All you have to do is believe in what he did. Believe that when He was on that cross, those were your sins He was paying for. Once you admit that and accept His payment, you have direct access to God without the guilt of our sin in the way. We are no longer guilty in God’s eyes.

A simple prayer is the first step.

God, I know that I am a sinner. I admit that I can do nothing that will please you enough to allow me to live forever in heaven with you. I believe that Jesus’ death on the cross paid the price for my sins. I want you to come into my heart and make me clean. I want to live my life for you, following you and what the Bible says. Thank you for loving me enough to send your son in my place.

Amen.
