Thursday Something to Think About

Dedication-complete and wholehearted devotion.

I've been reading the book Bod4God in another attempt to try to get my weight under control.  Last night I read Chapter 3 which focuses on dedication of your body to God.
The scripture that is the focus of the chapter is Romans 12:1-2 Romans 12:1-2 (NASB) Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect
It's all about dedicating our bodies to God.  If we do that, then we must take His lead whenever we are doing anything, especially eating.  If we want to be healthy and lose weight, we must acknowledge that what we are doing is sinful.  We have to allow God into that part of our life.

The chapter also uses the scripture James 4:17 (NASB) Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin
Once we know and understand that what we are doing to our bodies is sinful, then we must do something about it because to continue the same old way is just continuing in sin.

The book says this "I had to realize that my body was not for gratification of self, but for the glorification of God......To bring belief and behavior together you need to apply dedication."

So basically it comes down to this-Is your body dedicated to God?  Are you able to bring belief and behavior together?
Just something to think about.
